CARR LEADS BIG TEN IN SCORING AVERAGE
Sophomore guard Tony Carr leads the Big Ten in scoring at 20.1 points per game with six games with double-figure scoring. In 10 games so far this year, he averages, almost exactly, 10 points per half. Among Big Ten statistical leaders, Carr ranks in the top five in 3-point FG % (3), FT % (5) and assists (4).
PENN STATE "STEALING" SPOTLIGHT
Holding on to the Big Ten's top spot for team steals, Penn State has 99 - 17 more than the next squad on the list, Illinois (82). Three Nittany Lions are ranked among the Big Ten's steal leaders: Josh Reaves (1st-21), Jamari Wheeler (4th-18) and Tony Carr (7th-13).
Reaves and Wheeler are both ranked nationally in the total steals category.
MOST THREES IN BIG TEN GAME SINCE 2005
Penn State's 12 three-point field goals at Iowa were the most in a Big Ten game since recording 14 vs. Northwestern in the BJC during the 2004-05 season (PS W, 65-62, 1/22/05). The 12 three-pointers match Penn State's highest total in a Big Ten road game dating back to February 8, 1998, when the Nittany Lions made 12 in a 68-69 win at Northwestern.
The Nittany Lions connected on 13 three-point field goals in the St. John's victory during the 2016-17 season.
FIVE SEEING DOUBLE
Five Nittany Lions are currently averaging in double-figure scoring with Tony Carr (20.1), Lamar Stevens (14.1), Mike Watkins (12.3), Shep Garner (10.6) and Josh Reaves (10.6).
