MLAX Announces Nonconference Start Times

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; January 15, 2018 - Penn State men's lacrosse has announced its game times for its nine nonconference games that are slated for the 2018 season.

The first four games of the season will be home games for the Nittany Lions, all falling in the early afternoon. All home matches will be played in Panzer Stadium, which is on schedule for completion for the 2019 season, with some early season contests likely being in held in Holuba Hall. The Nittany Lions will host two exhibition games, opening with Navy at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, and taking on Army at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 27.

The regular season opener on Saturday, February 3, will start at 1 p.m. versus in-state foe Villanova. The following weekend will feature another 1 p.m. start, as the Nittany Lions will square off against Hobart on Saturday, February 10.

On Saturday, February 17, Penn State will take on Stony Brook at 2 p.m.

Penn State will close out its four-game season-opening homestand with a 12 p.m. start against Robert Morris on Saturday, February 24.

The Nittany Lions' first road contest of the season will be in Philadelphia at Franklin Field as they take on Penn at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 3.

Continuing their stretch away from University Park, Penn State will face Furman in a neutral site game on Tuesday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. at Georgetown Prep in North Bethesda, Maryland during spring break week.

Penn State follows with another neutral site pairing as the Nittany Lions will take on Cornell on Saturday, March 10 at 12 p.m. at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md.

The final nonconference road game sees Penn State square off with Fairfield, on the Stags' home turf on Saturday, March 17 at 1 p.m.

Following the four-game road trip, Penn State will close out its nonconference schedule with a home game versus Cleveland State at 1 p.m.

Penn State will then enter Big Ten play, having home games versus Maryland, Johns Hopkins, and Michigan, while hitting the road for their games against Ohio State and Rutgers.

Game times for the Big Ten contests will be announced following the announcement of TV selections.

Times and dates for all games are subject to change as TV schedules are finalized.
