Harris, Rivers Named Big Ten Athletes of the Week

Big Ten Releases - Men | Women

ROSEMONT, Ill.
- Following the second week of track & field for Penn State, Isaiah Harris and Danae Rivers have been named the Big Ten Men's & Women's Track Athletes of the Week, respectively, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Harris finished the Clemson Invitational with a first-place finish in the 600-meters running 1:16.55 that currently leads the Big Ten Conference and is No. 2 in the NCAA. Harris also returned later in the meet to anchor the 4x400-meter relay to a season-best of 3:08.17 that is No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 9 in the NCAA.

Rivers made her season debut in her signature event in style! Rivers posted a first-place finish in the 800-meters running an NCAA leading 2:03.13 that also set a new school record besting her record mark of 2:04.04 from last season.

The Nittany Lions host the Penn State National Open at Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track, Jan. 26-27 with day one action getting underway at 5 p.m. Friday night.
