UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Despite a season-high team score, the No. 32 Penn State women's gymnastics team was edged by the No. 33 Illinois Fighting Illini, 195.750-195.475, Saturday afternoon at Rec Hall. Senior Briannah Tsang (Vancouver, British Columbia) won the balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around.

"I thought tonight was a really strong night for us," head coach Sarah Brown said. "Definitely the most complete meet we have put together so far. We still had some mistakes, but in general I think we are moving in the right direction, and we are learning more and more about our athletes each time they compete. I am really proud of where we are right now."

Along with Tsang, junior Gianna LaGuardia (Thornton, Colo.) won the vault and freshman Lauren Bridgens (Darnestown, Md.) and junior Sabrina Garcia (Etters, Pa.) tied for the uneven bars title.
