WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Penn State women's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Purdue squad that set an opponent record for field goal percentage in handing the Lady Lions an 88-73 defeat on Sunday afternoon inside Mackey Arena.
The Boilermakers (14-7, 5-3 B1G) shot 73 percent from the field, connecting on 36-of-49 shots, which set the Penn State opponent record in the category, besting the 66.7 percent clip by Minnesota on Feb. 28, 2013.
The Lady Lions (13-9, 4-5 B1G) posted a 42 percent shooting night with 28 makes from the field. Penn State turned the ball over just seven times in the game and handed out a season Big Ten-high 18 assists. Purdue committed 15 missteps in the game and assisted on 28 of its 36 baskets.
Junior Teniya Page (Chicago, Ill.) netted her 28th career game with 20-plus points, pouring in 25 tallies to make her the 17th Penn Stater all-time to reach the 1,400-point mark. Page also handed out four assists, moving her career total to 288, helping her pass Maggie Lucas (286; 2011-14) for No. 15 on the career charts.
Sophomore Jaida Travascio-Green finished the night with 15 points, including four 3-pointers. It marked the fifth game this season she connected on four-or-more shots from 3-point range and moved her career total to 100 makes for her career. She is the 16th student-athlete to hit the century mark from distance and passed Dana Eikenberg (97; 1989-92) to move into No. 16 on the all-time makes list.
With 13 points vs. the Boilermakers, redshirt-sophomore De'Janae Boykin (Springdale, Md.) scored a Big Ten career-high 13 points, surpassing her previous Big Ten best of 10 points vs. Minnesota (1/10/18).
Four Boilermakers ended the game in double-figures, including 27 points from Ae'Rianna Harris and 21 from Dominique Oden. Andreona Keys chipped in 17 points and Karissa McLaughlin added 10 points to her 11 assists for the double-double.

Penn State
- G Teniya Page -- Scored 25 points to become the 17th player in Penn State history to hit the 1,400-point mark for a career. Ended the night with 1,400 career tallies. Handed out four assists and added one rebound.
- G Jaida Travascio-Green -- Tallied 15 points with four makes from 3-point range. Became the 16th Lady Lion to hit 100 career 3-pointers, ended the afternoon with 100 makes from distance for her career.
- F De'Janae Boykin -- Scored a Big Ten career-high 13 points, shooing 6-of-8 from the field and 1-of-2 from the free throw stripe. Added a team-high six boards.
- Helping Hand -- Penn State handed out a Big Ten season-high 18 assists.
- Limiting Turnovers -- The Lady Lions committed just seven turnovers.
- Getting the Steal -- Penn State collected 10 steals for the seventh time this season and third in Big Ten play.
Purdue
- F Ae-Rianna Harris -- Scored a game-high 27 points on 12-of-14 shooting. Added a game-high eight rebounds.
- G Dominique Oden -- Tallied 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Added seven assists.
- G Karissa McLaughlin -- Posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.
- Andreona Keys -- Scored 17 points and had four assists.
- Heling Hand -- Purdue handed out 28 assists on 36 made field goals.
- Hot Shooting -- The Boilermakes set a program record with a 73.5 percent shooting percentage in the game, which also marks a Penn State opponent record. The mark is the first time in Penn State history that an opponent shot 70 percent or better from the field.
First Quarter
It seemed as if the basket was larger than normal to start he game, as Penn State and Purdue each hit at or over 50 percent of its shots in the opening 10 minutes. The Boilermakers shot 79 percent in the opening quarter to race out to the early lead. A 10-5 spurt to open the game by Purdue gave them an early edge, but a 7-3 run by the Lady Lions made it a one-point game, 13-12, with 5:21 to play. Page scored or assisted on all seven points -- dropping in five of her own and assisting on the other bucket. Purdue would close the half on a 15-5 run over the final five minutes to take the double-digit lead into the first break.

Second Quarter
Another early scoring run by the Boilermakers pushed the lead to 16 points on a Keys layup with 4:05 to play. The 12-4 spurt was fueled by six points from Harris, two from Keys and a basket by Tamara Farquhar. Penn State closed the half on a 9-3 spurt of its own, getting baskets from Boykin and Carter, two free throws from Page and a 3-pointer from Travascio-Green to cut the Boilermaker lead back to 10 points.

Third Quarter
Penn State came out of the locker room and scored eight of the first 13 points to trim the Purdue lead to seven points, 48-41, with 6:40 to play. The two teams exchanged mini-runs over the next four minutes, with Purdue building its lead back to 12 points, 65-53, with 1:14 to play. The Lady Lions would score the final four points -- all coming on free throws -- and enter the final 10 minutes trailing by just eight, 65-57.

Fourth Quarter
Purdue continued its hot shooting in the fourth quarter, hitting 8-of-10 shots in the fourth quarter and led by double-digits the entire frame. Page had six of Penn State's 16 points in the frame, as the Lady Lions saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
