Big Ten Release - Men
ROSEMONT, Ill. - Following week three of track & field for Penn State, David Lucas has been named the Big Ten Men's Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.
Lucas finished the Penn State National Open with a first-place finish in the weigh throw, extending his own school record mark, finishing the competition with a best of 21.81m (71'-6.75"). Lucas is currently ranked No. 8 in the NCAA and No. 3 in the Big Ten Conference.
The Nittany Lions host the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup at Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track, Feb. 2-3 with day one action getting underway at 5 p.m. Friday night.
