MTN: Lions To Host Double Header

Jan. 31, 2018

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State men's tennis team will host two teams this weekend as they face Buffalo and Temple Saturday afternoon. The Lions will face Buffalo Saturday, Feb. 3, at 12 p.m. and Temple at 4 p.m. ET.

Both matches will take place at the Indoor Tennis Center.

The Nittany Lions (1-2) are coming off a tough trip to Alabama this past weekend. Buffalo (1-2) is coming off a close win against St. John's this past weekend while Temple (2-1) dominated St. Francis College Brooklyn.

"We have a very difficult doubleheader this coming Saturday," said head coach Jeff Zinn. "Buffalo is the reigning MAC Champion and competed in the NCAA's last year as their representative. They were chosen this year to repeat as conference champions in a very talented conference. Temple recently played the defending National Champions, University of Virginia, and lost 4-3 in a tight battle. Our team needs to accept this challenge from two established programs to gain momentum for the rest of the season. I'm sure both matches will be difficult and fans will enjoy the level of competition."

Following this weekends matches, the Nittany Lions will be back on the road to face Memphis Feb. 10 and Cornell Feb. 11.
