FNC: Men's saber shines through first two days of NAC

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" Penn State is participating in the January NAC this weekend. The event started yesterday in Virginia Beach, Va.

Women's epee and foil started off the event for the Nittany Lions. Sophomores Barbara VanBenthuysen (Spring, Texas) and Yumin Wang (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) took 21st and 24th in epee. Freshman Isabella Zuzulo finished Day 1 of the NAC event with a 34th place finish in women's foil.

Men's saber was the only event that Penn State competed in on Saturday, Jan. 6. Junior Karol Metryka (Linden, N.J.) led the way for the Nittany Lions with his fifth place finish, but finishing only three spots behind him was his senior teammate Andrew Mackiewicz (Westwood, Mass.), who finished in eighth.
