Heising Receives CHA Rookie of the Week Honor

WINTHROP, Mass. - Following a two-goal outing at Mercyhurst on Feb. 10, Penn State women's hockey freshman forward Natalie Heising (Maple Grove, Minn.) has been named the College Hockey America (CHA) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. This is the second CHA Rookie of the Week award for Heising.

Monday's honor marks the fifth CHA award for Heising, as she has been named Rookie of the Month twice (11/1 & 1/3), Rookie of the Week twice (11/27 & 2/12), and Player of the Week (12/4).

This past weekend, Heising recorded her second career two-goal outing in a 3-3 tie at Mercyhurst. Heising scored her second goal of the day with 15.4 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. Both of her goals on Saturday were scored on the power play.

The Nittany Lions return to action on Feb. 16-17 against the RIT Tigers at the Pegula Ice Arena. Puck drop against the Tigers is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Feb. 16 and 3 p.m. on Feb. 17.
