Bridgens Tabbed Big Ten Freshman of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Lauren Bridgens (Darnestown, Md.) has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. This is the second Big Ten Freshman of the Week award for Bridgens.

This past weekend, Bridgens and the Nittany Lions tallied a team score of 195.325 en route to a first-place finish in a tri-meet against Cornell (192.400) and Penn (192.200).

On the day, Bridgens won the all-around (39.300) and floor exercise (9.850) titles outright, both with career-best scores. She also tied for the uneven bars (9.900) and balance beam (9.775) titles. In addition to her four titles, Bridgens also tied for second on the vault with a 9.775.

Up next No. 28 Penn State hosts No. 18 George Washington on Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. at Rec Hall. The meet against George Washington is Penn State's final home meet of the regular season. The Penn State men will also be competing against Minnesota in a double dual format.
