HONOLULU, Hawai'i - Penn State took the court for the second night in a row, this time facing No. 2 Hawai'i Friday night in the Stan Sheriff Center falling 3-0 to the Rainbow Warriors (16-25, 19-25, 16-25) in a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament match.
Calvin Mende led the NIttany Lions in kills with 10 - that were a match high - as well as adding two digs and three blocks. As a team Penn State finished with 7.0 team blocks and recorded only one less service ace than No. 2 Hawai'I.
The Rainbow Warrior defense was a tough task for the Nittany Lions as Penn State finished the match hitting .089 committing 18 attack errors and surrendering 8.5 team blocks against Hawai'i.
Penn State returns to the court for one final match in the Outrigger Invitational as the Nittany Lions face Lewis Saturday Mar. 10 at 9 p.m. ET.
