UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The 18th-ranked Penn State women's lacrosse team looks to rebound from a tough one-goal defeat at the hands of Princeton on Monday as they welcome No. 22 Johns Hopkins for a Big Ten conference tilt on Thursday evening.

HOW TO WATCH

The game will air live across the nation on the Big Ten Network and will be available for streaming on BTN2Go at 7 p.m.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP

  • This marks the 20th matchup in the all-time series with Penn State holding the 14-5 advantage including winning the last three games and five of the last six.
  • The two programs have met at least once each season dating back to 2002.
  • Junior Madison Carter tied her career-high last season against the Jays scoring six goals during a 16-10 win at Johns Hopkins. The junior has eight career goals in two games against Hopkins to lead all current Nittany Lions.

SCOUTING THE BLUEJAYS

  • Hopkins is coming off an opening loss in Big Ten pay against Maryland last Saturday after winning four-straight. The Blue Jays are 7-3 on the year overall.
  • Hopkins is averaging 13.70 goals per game while only allowing 9.60 goals per game.
  • The Jays are led on offense by Miranda Ibello with 40 points on 18 goals and 22 assists while Maggie Schneidereith and Emily Kenul have each scored 21 goals. Nicole DeMase has chipped in 19 goals while Shannon Fitzgerald has added 16.
  • In net Haley Crosson has started all ten games registering a .466 save percentage and a 10.28 goals against average.

ZERO TO 100

  • In her eighth season with the Nittany Lions, head coach Missy Doherty is just one win shy of reaching 100 at Penn State.
  • Doherty has led the Nittany Lions to six-straight NCAA Tournaments during her previous seven years including back-to-back NCAA Final Fours and has posted a 99-50 overall record at Penn State.

CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR

  • After a tough loss to Princeton on Monday, Penn State has now matched its number of losses from the entire 2017 season with four including three losses by a single-goal.
  • The Nittany Lions have lost each of their four games by a total of five goals. Penn State is just 1-4 in games decided by two goals or less this season.
  • In its six wins this season, Penn State has an average margin of victory by 7.5 goals while in its losses the average margin of victory is 1.25 goals.

HOW LOWE CAN YOU GO

  • Freshman goaltender Lucy Lowe was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week earlier this season earning the first Freshman of the Week honor for Penn State since Madison Carter on April 26, 2016.
  • Lowe has started five straight games and secured two victories last week while registering an 8.41 goals against average and a .607 save percentage for the week.

OFFENSIVE OUTBURST

  • Sophomore Maria Auth has collected 16 goals in her last four games including nine goals and three assists for 12 points during a 2-0 week last week to be named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Auth leads the team with 36 points to rank second in the Big ten and tied for 26th nationally while her 30 goals are second in the Big Ten and tied for 15th in the nation. Auth has also scored at least one goal in 13 straight games with multiple goals in all, but one of those contests.
  • Junior Madison Carter is also riding a 13-game goal streak while her 33 goals pace the Big Ten and rank tied for fifth in the nation. With a pair of goals on Monday, Carter moved into eighth on the Penn State all-time goal list with 151 for her career.
