CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Penn State women's golf team dropped three spots to tenth after shooting a second round 307 (plus-19) at the Hurricane Invitational from the Biltmore Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.

Host Miami paced the field on day two shooting a two-under 288 and now lead Oaklahoma by three strokes heading into Wednesday's final round. Coastal Carolina sits in third place six strokes out of the lead at plus-four while fellow Big Ten foe Maryland sits in fourth place at plus-15 and Virginia Tech rounds out the top-five at plus-17.

Junior Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.) and sophomore Maddy Herr (New Hope, Pa.) led the Nittany Lions during the second round as they each shot a three-over 75. Herr stands tied for 28th entering the final round on Wednesday at plus-six while Waller is tied for 35th at plus-seven.

Waller closed out her second round with a pair of birdies over the final four holes to card a one-over 37 on the back-nine.

Senior Ariana Coyle Diez (Mount Merrion, Dublin, Ireland) carded a plus-five 77 for the second round, but after an opening nine 43 (plus-seven) she closed out her back nine with four consecutive birdies to record a two-under 34. Diez is currently tied for 44th at plus-10 for the tournament.

Sophomore Megan McLean (Lebanon, N.J.) also had a bounce back day carding a plus-five 77 as she opened her round with a plus-one 37 on the front side.

The Nittany Lions close out the Hurricane Invitational with the final round tomorrow morning with tee times beginning around 9 a.m. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
