CHICAGO, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced the selection of Penn State senior Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) as the league's Golfer of the Week. Miller tallied a 7-under-par performance in the Rutherford Intercollegiate to claim the individual title and help Penn State secure the team title.
Miller fired a tournament-low 6-under 65 in the second round, while shooting rounds of 1-under 70 and even-par 71 in rounds one and three respectively.
The individual title is his first of the 2017-18 campaign and marked the first time in Miller's career that he claimed the program's home event individual title for his sixth-career individual victory.
This is the third time Miller has been honored as the Big Ten Golfer of the Week with his first coming in his freshman season of 2014 and the last just a season ago.
Miller now joins teammate JD Hughes (Carlisle, Pa.) as Nittany Lion recipients of the honor in the 2017-18 season.
Penn State will be back in action when it travels to the Columbus, Ohio to compete in the Kepler Intercollegiate, Saturday-Sunday, April 21-22, hosted by Big Ten foe Ohio State.
