UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team is making its fourth straight NCAA Regional appearance as it has been selected to compete in the Columbus Regional at the Ohio State Golf Club, May 14-16.
Joining the No. 7 seeded Nittany Lions in Columbus will be top seeded Oklahoma State, No. 2 Illinois, No. 3 Texas Tech, No. 4 UNLV, No. 5 Wake Forest, No. 6 Northwestern, No. 8 Tennessee, No. 9 Louisville, No. 10 Jacksonville, No. 11 Michigan State, No. 12 Yale, and No. 13 Cleveland State.
"We know the quality and challenge at the Scarlet Course," said Penn State head coach Greg Nye. "We have several experiences at this golf course that we can utilize. We're excited to be assigned to Columbus."
In his 26 seasons at the helm, Nye has led the Nittany Lions to 21 NCAA regionals.
A season ago, senior Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) was the individual champion at the Washington Regional and helped lead Penn State to a fifth-place finish to send the team to the NCAA Championship.
