UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" Coming off a second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, head coach Guy Gadowsky and the Penn State men's ice hockey team announced its 2018-19 schedule earlier Tuesday afternoon. The schedule is highlighted by 20 home contests for the second time in the past two seasons as well as return trips to Wells Fargo Center and Madison Square Garden.

Following the fourth installment of the International Game against Brock on Sunday October 6, the Nittany Lions will begin their 2018-19 slate with eight-straight home contests culminating with a home-and-home series against in-state foe Robert Morris during the second weekend in November.

"Every time we get the chance to play in our home barn in front of our amazing fan base at Pegula it's always a tremendous atmosphere," commented head coach Guy Gadowsky. "We hope to use some of that early season passion and energy to give us added momentum heading into another tough Big Ten Conference schedule."

Penn State won't have to leave the state of Pennsylvania until Thanksgiving weekend as the Nittany Lions play their first 11 games in the Keystone State with 10 contests at Pegula Ice Arena. PSU opens the regular season with a pair of games against Clarkson on October 11-12. The following weekend the Niagara Purple Eagles come to town on October 19-20 before a single-game against Princeton on October 26.

Penn State wraps up the first semester of play with a highly touted series between the last two Big Ten Tournament Champions as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish visit Pegula Ice Arena on December 7-8 followed by a short trip to Philadelphia to conclude the season series with Princeton in a single contest at Wells Fargo Center on December 15.

The Nittany Lions then take the next two weeks off and return from winter break with a trip to Minnesota on January 4-5 before welcoming the student body back to Happy Valley with back-to-back home weekends against Michigan State (Jan. 11-12) and Ohio State (Jan. 18-19).

Penn State then travels to Ann Arbor on Thursday, January 24 before closing out the regular season series against the Wolverines on Saturday, January 26 at Madison Square Garden as part of the fourth annual Super Saturday Hoops and Hockey. The Nittany Lions then open February with a bye-week followed by a visit from Minnesota on February 8-9.

The Nittany Lions close out the home portion of their regular season schedule with a visit from Wisconsin on February 22-23 sandwiched between trips to Michigan State (Feb. 15-16) and Notre Dame (Mar. 1-2).

For the second-consecutive season the Big Ten Tournament will take to campus sites throughout the month of March with the Quarterfinal best-of-three series occuring the weekend of March 8-10 with the Big Ten Semifinals the following weekend on March 16 and the Big Ten Championship game being played on March 23.
