NORFOLK, Va. - The Penn State men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned recognition as College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams for the Spring 2018 semester, the organization announced Tuesday.
To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester.
The Nittany Lion women combined for a 3.49 team grade point average for their 14th consecutive semester above a 3.0, while the men earned a 3.09 team GPA, surpassing 3.0 for a fourth-consecutive semester and for the seventh time in the last eight semesters.
In total, 710 teams, representing 476 institutions across college athletics achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the Spring 2018 semester. The Penn State men were one of seven Big Ten programs to earn the honor, while the women were one of 12.
