KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. - Rising seniors Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.) and Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.) each qualified for the 2018 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship conducted by the USGA during separate sectional qualifying events last week.
This year's event will take place August 6-12 at the Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tennessee.
Qualifying out of Hackensack Golf Club in New Jersey on Tuesday July 3, Rogowicz finished tied for third after shooting a two-under-par-70. Waller qualified two days later on Thursday July 5 after finishing tied for second with a two-over-par-74 at Edina Country Club in Edina, Minnesota.
For Rogowicz this marks her third appearance in the U.S. Amateur after competing in both 2014 and 2016, Waller is making her first-ever U.S. Women's Amateur appearance.
Rogowicz, who was the lone amateur to compete in the 2018 ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer in early June, finished her junior campaign in Happy Valley with a 74.31 scoring average and six top-10 finishes in nine events including individual first-place at the William and Mary Invitational in September.
Waller's average was slightly higher at 74.46 while securing a trio of top-10 finishes in nine events last season.
