UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - On a beautiful sunny afternoon, the annual Coquese's Drive for the Centre County Women's Resource Center (CCWRC) celebrated its 11th year on Friday at the Penn State Blue Course, raising over $31,000, the second-highest total in the fundraiser tournament history.
Lady Lions' head coach Coquese Washington and the Coquese's Drive committee presented a check for $31,292 to the CCWRC. The 2018 total moved the overall donation total to $223,185 through 11 years.
The winning foursome in the open division was comprised of John Carnicella, Terry Carnicella, Frank Shields and Mitch Cooper. Genny Vanemon, Gloria Brown, Peggy Smith and Patty Nellis claimed the top prize in the women's division. Dan Sieminski, Dan Holyer, Dick Althouse and Patrick Bisbey earned runner-up honors in the open division while Sue Cromwell, Joan Ritchie, Tracy Richardson and Karen Krupa were named runner-ups in the women's division.
The longest drive winners were George McMurtry (Hole 18) on the men's side and Tracy Richardson (Hole 7) on the women's side, while Dan Sieminski (Hole 17) and Lilly Gesell (Hole 8) won the closest to the pin holes. The team of Lilly Gesell, Linda Brown, Esther Lauchle, Deb Ault-Wilt was noted as the "Most Honest" foursome on the afternoon.

The CCWRC provides services for victims of domestic and/or sexual violence. Counselor/advocates are available 24 hours a day. There is no cost involved and all services are private.
More than 1,300 individuals received services from CCWRC last year in Centre County. Domestic and sexual violence happens to millions of people every year; from every religion, race, and economic class, in rural areas and cities, those with a college degree and in elementary school.
