Over 100 Nittany Lions Earn Spring Academic All-Big Ten Recognition
Penn State has a total of 4,023 honorees during 18 years of the program
Baker joined the Penn State Athletics staff in 1974 as an Assistant Sports Information Director and was promoted to Sports Information Director in 1979. In 1986, he moved to the Athletic Business office, serving in several positions, including Athletic Business Manager.
While in the Sports Information office, Baker earned 24 publication awards from CoSIDA, the College Sports Information Directors of America, including six "Best in the Nation" awards. He also served a two-year term as president of the National Association of Collegiate Concessionaires (NACC).
Baker graduated from Penn State in 1973 with a degree in journalism. He also earned his Masters of Business Administration in accounting from Penn State in 1987.
Baker teaches a Sports Information course in the College of Communications' Center for Sports Journalism program.
