Student-Athletes Honored at "The Nittanys" for Academic and Athletic Achievements
Women's Tennis Earns Highest Team GPA Award for Second Time This Decade
Jim Weaver is a State College native who is the Associate Director of Academic Advising for Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics. Weaver is a 1985 graduate of Mansfield University of Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration and a minor in Psychology. He received his Masters of Science in Counseling/Student Personnel Administration in 1985. He worked at the University of North Carolina and the East Carolina University in Greenville, NC before his appointment at Penn State.
He joined the Penn State staff in 1993 as an Academic Advisor working with men's volleyball at the Morgan Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes. He is currently the Associate Director working directly with men's and women's volleyball, women's soccer and men's lacrosse teams.
Jim's wife, Sandy, also works at Penn State as the Youth Programs Compliance Coordinator in the Office of Ethics and Compliance. Their son, Miles, is a 2013 graduate of Penn State.
