Lionettes Pre-tryout Dance Clinic

The Penn State Lionettes Dance Clinic is designed to provide dancers who are interested in auditioning for the Lionettes Dance team in late April with the opportunity to work on the techniques and skills that the current Lionettes use in their routines. The clinic will also provide a discussion regarding try-outs and what it takes to be part of the Lionettes Dance team. Following the clinic, all dancers are welcome to attend the Lionettes Friends and Family Performance at Recreation Hall, where the current Lionettes will showcase the routines they plan to compete with at NDA Collegiate Nationals in Daytona, Florida.

Who: Grades 9 and up (college students are eligible)

Fee:
- $50 per person (includes instruction)

Where

The clinic will be conducted at the White Building, which is located on Shortlidge Road. All registrants are asked to arrive between 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. to check in with clinic personnel. The clinic will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. In case of inclement weather, you will be contacted by e-mail concerning any changes or cancellation.

What to Bring

Participants should bring dance shoes (jazz, contemporary or ballet shoes recommended) and appropriate workout clothing. Leave rings, jewelry and valuables at home.

Tentative Schedule - April 2nd

  • 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Registration - White Building
  • 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Welcome and Warm-up
  • 11:00 a. m. - 1:00 p.m. Technique session and teaching of routines
  • 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Q&A
  • 1:30 p.m. - Clinic concludes
  • Lionettes Friends & Family Performance - Recreation Hall, South Gym

The Lionettes will be performing both of their competition routines before leaving for NDA Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL All are welcome to attend 2:30 p.m. (Tentative time)
