UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's tennis will open up its fall season with two singles players ranked in 2018-19 ITA preseason rankings. Christian Lakoseljac (King City, Ontario, Canada) will enter the season ranked No. 97 along with Constant De La Bassetiere (Reims, France) at No. 106.
Lakoseljac receives the honor after finishing last season with an impressive overall 21-9 record and defeating three ranked teams. Lakoseljac also helped the Nittany Lions advance past Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament to reach the quarterfinals. The junior ended the season with a Second-Team All-Big Ten award.
De La Bassetiere collects the honor after posting a strong 21-11 singles record to end the 2017-18 season, including a victory over conference rival and No. 50, Wisconsin. The senior also helped the Blue and White to advance to the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament, sweeping both his matches against Purdue in the first round. De La Bassetiere finished his season First-Team All-Big Ten.
Penn State will play its first fall tournament Oct. 18-21, at ITA Regionals in Blacksburg, Va.
