UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Former Penn State Women's Lacrosse midfielder Katie O'Donnell and current Director of Operations Katie Haus have been selected to play in the Team USA Fall Classic as members of the U.S. Women's National Team. The two are part of the squad that will represent the U.S. at the 2021 World Cup.
The 27-member U.S. Women's National Team will play an exhibition game against James Madison, the defending NCAA Champion, on Saturday, October 6 at the U.S. Lacrosse Headquarters. O'Donnell is set to become the eighth former Nittany Lion to play on a U.S. World Cup team.
O'Donnell finished her Nittany Lion career with four All-America selections, including a First Team nod in 2018. She garnered First Team honors this past season, finishing second on the team with 61 goals and 67 points while leading the team with 16 multi-goal performances, including five games with at least five goals. O'Donnell helped the Nittany Lions to four NCAA Tournaments, including two National Semifinals appearances.
The West Chester native is one of four players to eclipse the 200-goal mark in her Penn State career, finishing with 203 goals. She ranks sixth all-time with 227 career points. O'Donnell was a two-time All-Big Ten selection.
Haus joined the program in 2017-18 as a Volunteer Assistant before moving into her current role as Director of Operations. She has been a member of the U.S. Women's National Team since 2010, guiding them to the 2013 World Cup and 2017 FIL Women's World Cup.
During her playing career at Maryland, Haus (formerly Schwarzmann) was a two-time Tewaaraton Award Winner as the top women's lacrosse player in the nation. The four-time IWLCA All-American led the Terrapins to four straight NCAA Semifinals, three National Championship games and a National Title in 2010. She ranks fifth all-time in program history in goals (228) and points (304).
The Nittany Lions, led by Head Coach Missy Doherty, return 26 members from last year's squad. Penn State reached its seventh straight NCAA tournament in 2018.
