Nittany Lions Move Up at Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – Senior JD Hughes vaulted up 21 spots with a second-round 68 as the Penn State men's golf team moved up two spots on the second day of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Hughes was 4-under in his second round (68) for a two-round of 144 total, good for 39th.
 
The Nittany Lions were 6-under on their second day for a 282 and are 2-under for the tournament (576). Penn State moved to 11th place.
 
Senior Ryan Dornes is in 30th place at 2-under after two rounds (142) to lead the Nittany Lions. His first-day 3-under 69 was the low score for Penn State on Friday. Senior Charles Huntzinger tied Hughes by moving up a spot to 39th with a 1-under 71 in his second round.
 
In his second round, Junior Alec Bard improved 17 spots with five birdies for a 2-under 70. Lukas Clark, competing as an individual, moved up five spots with a 1-over 73 and is tied with teammate Ryan Davis for 70th. Davis pulled a shot off his first-round total for a 75 on day two.
 
East Tennessee State was one shot off tying the single-round record of 269 with its 270 score in the first round and continues to lead the field at 549 (27-under). Individual leader Shiso Go, representing ETSU, tied his own single-round record from 2017 with a 63 in his first round of play this weekend and is at 131 after two rounds.
