Nittany Lions Finish Day One at ITA Regionals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's tennis team finished it's first day at ITA Regionals, with two Nittany Lions competing in the singles qualifying draw.

Noah Sutter (New York, N.Y.) began his weekend as the No. 1 seed in the singles qualifying draw. He defeated Lawrence Sciglitano of George Washington University 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the draw. Sutter was then defeated by William Karpinski of James Madison University 6-3, 6-2.

Chris Kuhnle (Shoreham, N.Y.) lost in the first round of qualifying singles to Cesar Cernuda of Georgetown 6-2, 6-1.

The Blue and White will continue competition tomorrow in the doubles and singles main draw.
