CHICAGO – BTN will provide extensive coverage of the 2018 Big Ten fall championships and tournaments, including live broadcasts and streams of the Big Ten Men's and Women's Soccer Tournaments, the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament and the Big Ten Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships.
BTN's first televised Big Ten fall championship event is Sunday, Oct. 28, when No. 3 seed Penn State hosts No. 6 seed Iowa at noon in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament.
Penn State has already captured one Big Ten Championship this fall, as the women's soccer team earned its conference-leading 19th regular season title. There are six Nittany Lion squads ranked in the Top 20 nationally this week and the Penn State wrestling team is the pre-season No. 1 team. The Nittany Lions have won 108 Big Ten crowns all-time.
The Big Ten Cross Country Championships kick off BTN's coverage Sunday, Oct. 28. The event will air live on FloSports and BTN Plus at 11:45 a.m. ET, and on television Monday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. ET. The Nittany Lion women's cross country team is ranked No. 13 nationally.
BTN will also televise four Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament games, including two semifinals and the championship from Northwestern. Live coverage of the quarterfinal round will begin at noon on Sunday, featuring Iowa at Penn State. The first semifinal game will air live on BTN2Go and the Fox Sports app at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 2, with the television debut following at 5:30 p.m. ET. Semifinal No. 2 will air on BTN live at 3:30 p.m. ET and the championship game will air live at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 4.
The Penn State field hockey team is ranked No. 7 nationally.
Live coverage of the women's soccer tournament also begins on Sunday, Oct. 28, with quarterfinal action at 2 p.m. ET as Nebraska takes on Ohio State. Live coverage of the semifinal round will begin on BTN2Go at 11 a.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 2, and continue with the second semifinal matchup 1:30 p.m. ET. The championship game will air live at noon on Sunday, Nov. 4.
The Nittany Lion women's soccer team won the outright Big Ten regular season crown and is ranked No. 16 nationally. Penn State has won 19 Big Ten Women's Soccer Championships; Minnesota ranks second with four conference titles.
BTN will televise a quarterfinal match, both semifinals and the final of the Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament. The quarterfinal match will take place on campus, with the semifinals and finals being held at Grand Park in Indiana. Information the quarterfinal for Sunday, Nov. 5, is currently pending, while the semifinals will air live at 1 p.m. ET and approximately 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 9. The final will be carried live at noon. ET on Sunday, Nov. 11.
The Penn State men's soccer team plays its regular season finale on Sunday, Oct. 28, hosting Rutgers at 4 p.m. for Senior Day.
