Dornes Finishes in Top 10 at UNCG/Grandover Collegiate

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Ryan Dornes led the Penn State men's golf team at the UNCG/Grandover Collegiate, tying for 10th place among the individuals with a 218 (73-69-76=218). The Lancaster, Pennsylvania, native made a hole-in-one on No. 7 in the final round and registered his second top-10 finish this fall.

The Penn State men's golf team slipped back to fourth at the UNCG/Grandover Collegiate with an 887 team score (288-290-309) after struggling in the third and final round Sunday.

Seniors Charles Huntzinger and JD Hughes recorded top-20 finishes with Huntzinger tying for 15th (66-77-78=221) and Hughes 20th (74-70-79+223). Junior Ryan Davis tied for 38th (75-75-77=227) and classmate Alec Bard moved up a couple of spots into a tie for 68th (81-76-78=235).

UNCG won the tournament for the first time in its history, moving into the top spot on Saturday and holding on with an 869 team total (289-282-298=869). Northwestern's David Nyfjall went 3-under in Sunday's final round and captured the individual title (70-72-69=211).

Competing as an individual in this tournament, Nittany Lion sophomore Louis Olsakovsky finished 73rd (77-79-81=237).

The Nittany Lions completed three of their five scheduled tournaments this fall with two events in September cancelled due to inclement weather.
