Nittany Lions Move on to Consolation Final

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's tennis advanced to the doubles consolation finals at the Oracle ITA Fall Championships after an exciting win in the semifinals.

Constant De La Bassetiere (Reims, France) and Gabriel Nemeth (Brasilia, Brazil) saw action against the top-ranked pair of Jack Mingjie Lin and Will Matheson of Columbia.

De La Bassetiere and Nemeth earned the win in a thrilling super tiebreak, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.

The duo will go on to play in the final round of consolations against the winner of No. 6 South Alabama and Oregon tomorrow.

"We were tied 6-6 in the tiebreaker and reeled off four straight points to win the match," said head coach Jeff Zinn. "Now we play the winner of Oregon and South Alabama, two highly ranked programs. We need to play our best tennis to win the back draw."

Updates on the matches and all tournament information will be available on the tournament page.
