UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 22 Penn State women's cross country team is headed to Madison, Wisconsin, for the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The meet begins at 11:45 a.m. (EST) at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.

LAST TIME OUT
The Penn State women are coming off a third-place finish at the NCAA Regional meet at the Blue-White Golf Course. Individually, four Nittany Lion women finished in the top-25 to garner all-region honors.
Alison Willingmyre (sixth – 21:22) and Danae Rivers (seventh – 21:22) recorded top-10 finishes to pace the Nittany Lions. Along with Willingmyre and Rivers, Kathryn Munks (18th - 21:40) and Moira O'Shea (25th - 21:48) finished in the top-25.
AT THE NCAA MEET
Penn State will be looking to tally its fourth straight top-20 finish at the NCAA Championships. Including 2018, the Nittany Lion women have competed as a team in nine of the last 10 NCAA Championship meets.
LAST YEAR AT THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Nittany Lion women finished 18th overall, which marked Penn State's third straight season finishing in the top-20 at the NCAA Championships for the first time since 1991-94.
Individually for PSU, Jillian Hunsberger paced the Blue & White with a 75th-place finish (20:31.14).
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS
The Nittany Lions have combined for four athlete of the week honors. On the year, Colin Abert has been named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week twice (Sept. 5 & 12) and U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week once (Sept. 10). Along with Abert, Julia Paternain was tabbed the Big Ten Athlete of the Week (Sept. 12).
