ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Penn State senior Hector Garcia Boissier led three Penn State finalists with a first-place finish on the second day of competition at the Navy Diving Invitational Thursday at Lejeune Hall.
The Nittany Lions finished day two with three top-10 finishes the men in the 3-meter. The men's and women's competitions feature 27 divers each from St. Bonaventure, George Washington, UMass, Virginia, and West Virginia.

On the men's side, all four Lions competing - Garcia Boissier, Jonah Cey, Jack Crow and Bryce Hoch – came out strong in the preliminaries for the men's 3-meter. Garcia Boissier, Crow and Cey all moved forward to the finals.
Garcia Boissier led the Nittany Lions in the finals taking the first-place slot with a score of 439.85, an improvement from his preliminary round score of 416.00. This marks his highest 3-meter total before winter break in his career. Senior Jack Crow posted a personal- best in the 3-meter reaching the top-five in the finals placing fourth with a score of 366.50. Crow posted his top score in the prelims with a 401.90.
Jonah Cey had a second solid day of diving taking the sixth-place slot in both the prelims and finals with score of 329.35 and 334.10 respectively. Sophomore Bryce Hoch was just shy of making the final cut coming in 13th in the prelims scoring a 288.45.
On the women's side, Kamryn Umbel narrowly missed zone scores, but finished the second day with an 11th place finish in the women's 1-meter prelims scoring a 256.25.
"I am looking forward to another three and half months before championship meets to train. The team ceiling potential just keeps climbing in my eyes," said Penn State diving coach Jeff DiNicola, "I am excited to come back tomorrow to see how we do on tower and then back for zones in March for the chance to make NCAA."

The diving team will continue Saturday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. with both the men's and women's platform. The entire Penn State swimming & diving team will be back in action on Nov. 29-Dec.1 when the team travels to Knoxville for the Tennessee Invitational.
