UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Redshirt junior defender Kaleigh Riehl has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week for the week of Nov. 12-18. This is the third career TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week honor for Riehl.
This past weekend, Riehl and the No. 14 Nittany Lions recorded a pair of 1-0 victories. In the victory over No. 18, and third-seeded, South Carolina, the Nittany Lions allowed five shot attempts. Then in the victory over Wake Forest, Penn State allowed eight shot attempts. The two opponents combined for just five shots on goal in 180 minutes of play.
Offensively, Riehl recorded her first assist of the season on Kristin Schnurr's goal in Penn State's win over South Carolina.
The Nittany Lions now face the No. 5-ranked, and No. 1-seeded, Florida State Seminoles in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 23. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Tallahassee, Florida.
