Q: "In terms of the way this whole season played out how hard was it to go back each week and get the emotional level you needed to be and physical level you needed to be and was today just a culmination of the physical and emotional toll on the team?"
A: "It was just the whole building sticking together, working through everything we've been through and staying together. So that was the key, staying together and today we came up short with some things, some things we wish we could give back but we just need to keep moving forward."
Q: " Given the way your career has gone on, what do you gain from this season in terms of not only on the field but off the field."
A: "I have been through a lot of adversity throughout my career. The biggest thing that I gained from this year was just being a leader to the younger guys. They have a big and bright future, every one of them. They're good and they can take coaching and that's a thing some players just don't have. Just leading them and guiding them along their journey was cool to me. That's the biggest thing I can take away from this year."
Q: "When you come into a game like this and they immediately score a touchdown on the first possession does that put you back on your heels at all or do you go on business as usual and just step it up."
A: "Like we have been mentioning each and every time it's just adversity. It was a setback. We just had to respond and we didn't respond how we wanted to and it carried over."
Mbi Tanyi | DL | Sr./Sr.|
Q: "Can you describe what you learned this season from dealing with something you probably have never come close to dealing with before?"
A: "This season was filled with adversity, just battling through it. That is the biggest thing we've all taken from this season. For a group of guys like us who lost a teammate, to keep battling game in game out, I can't say how proud I am of everybody who put effort it."
Q: "On the defensive side you guys actually had some good games this year. What will you remember from playing with guys like Cowart and Jesse and having that whole group together??
A: "On the defensive side we just tried to all play together as brothers. These past few games we've been turning it up, trying to play for bowl eligibility. For my brothers I'll do anything, so that's what we were doing."
Q: "How difficult is it to have these last four games, all with a chance to go to a bowl, to end up coming up short when you're so close to getting that extra game to play in."
A: "It's just more adversity, you just have to keep battling through it. To come up short is disappointing but each week we have to show up to play. This is what it is. That's college football."
