Brenneman, Heising Named CHA Players of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women's hockey forward Natalie Heising and goaltender Jenna Brenneman each received weekly College Hockey America rewards for their performances over the last week.

Heising became the first Nittany Lion to win the CHA Player of the Week award in 2018-19 and Brenneman won her second-straight CHA Goaltender of the Week award as announced by the league on Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Heising takes home the award after being a force offensively Nov. 20-21 against RIT where she scored two game-winning goals to help the Nittany Lions to a pair of victories. Her two scores put her season total at nine, which ranks second in the conference.

Heising put pressure on the Tigers by tallying 14 shots on goal over the two games. She also won 25-of-18 faceoffs.

Brenneman's stellar performance Nov. 16-17 carried over to the RIT series to garner her the second-straight Goaltender of the Week award. She made 23 saves in her second shutout of the season in last Tuesday's 3-0 win.

On Wednesday, Brenneman made 15 stops, including a couple of big saves in the second and third periods, to secure a 2-1 win. Over her last four games, Brenneman is 3-0-1 with a 0.49 GAA on just two goals allowed and a .976 save percentage.

Heising, Brenneman, and the rest of the Nittany Lions finish their first half of the season with a CHA road series at Robert Morris Nov. 30-Dec. 1.
