KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Four members of the Penn State women's soccer team were named to the All-North Region team, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches.

For Penn State, Emily Ogle, Kaleigh Riehl and Frankie Tagliaferri were tabbed with First Team honors, while Kerry Abello was named to the Third Team. This is the first All-Region honor for Abello and Tagliaferri.

Ogle, a redshirt senior midfielder, started all 25 matches in 2018 and finished the year with 17 points on six goals and five assists. This past weekend, Ogle became the eighth Nittany Lion to play in 100 career games. In her four seasons playing for Penn State, she received three All-Region First Team honors (2015, '17 and '18) and one All-Region Third Team plaudit ('14).

Riehl, a redshirt junior defender, was named to the All-Region First Team for the first time after garnering second team honors last season. In 2018, Riehl helped anchor a Nittany Lion backline that allowed just 13 goals and posted 14 shutouts in 25 matches. Individually, she was on the field for 95 percent of the season for the Blue & White.

Offensively, Riehl tallied an assist on the lone goal in No. 14 Penn State's 1-0 win over No. 18 South Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Tagliaferri, a sophomore forward, finished the year with 19 points on seven goals and five assists. In conference-only matches, she recorded 14 points on five goals and four assists. Her 14 points in Big Ten play were tied for second in the league in 2018.

Abello, a sophomore midfielder, played in 23 matches, which included 19 starts. Offensively, Abello was tied for the team lead in points with 19 on seven goals and five assists.
