Duo Named Academic All-District

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Kerry Abello and Emily Ogle have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Two First Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday, Nov. 8. This is the first selection for Abello and the second selection for Ogle.

In the classroom, Abello boasts a 4.00 GPA as a biology major, while Ogle carries a 3.99 GPA as a kinesiology major.

Abello, a sophomore midfielder, is tied for the team lead in goals (seven) and points (19) this season. Behind Abello's first career two-goal outing on Oct. 21, the Nittany Lions won the 2018 Big Ten regular season title outright with a 2-0 win over Minnesota.

Ogle, a redshirt senior midfielder, was named a Second Team CoSIDA Academic All-American last year. In 2018, Ogle has netted 15 points on five goals and five assists. Heading into Friday's match against Bowling Green, she has played in 96 career matches.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
