UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Women's Gymnastics team has announced its promotional schedule for the 2019 season. The Nittany Lions are set to host four meets at Rec Hall as well as the Big Ten Championships on March 23.
The home slate begins on Saturday, January 19 when the Nittany Lions host Ohio State at 3:30 p.m. It will be the team's Pink Meet as well as Camper Reunion Day. Free pink gymnastics pins will be given to the first 500 fans. There will also be free face painting and caricature drawings. That meet will also be broadcast on Big Ten Network.
The following Saturday, January 26, will be a Double Dual with Penn State welcoming Minnesota for a 4 p.m. meet. Promotions will include Super Hero Day, Cub Club Day, a Book Drive and Team ICA Day. Come dressed as your favorite super hero and donate new or gently used books.
On Saturday, February 16, the Nittany Lions will host Dad & Daughter Day against Michigan. That meet will begin at 4 p.m. Fans will receive free Dad & Daughter autograph cards and stations. There will be a free photo booth with take home and digital photos as well as a post-meet autograph session.
The home slate finishes on Saturday, March 2 with a quad meet against Arizona State, Cornell and Yale. The Nittany Lions will celebrate Senior Day and 800 Strong Day. Help us celebrate our seniors. We will also have free face painting and caricature drawings.
The Nittany Lions went 11-8 in Head Coach Sarah Brown's first season in Happy Valley. Penn State returns 13 members from the 2018 squad, including All-America sophomore Lauren Bridgens and All-Big Ten senior Sabrina Garcia.
