Women's Hockey Faces Conference Road Test At Syracuse

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania – The Penn State women's hockey team heads to Syracuse for a road College Hockey America series this weekend, Jan. 25-26, at Tennity Ice Pavilion.

FIVE GAMES UNBEATEN
The Nittany Lions have gone 3-0-2 in their last five games since the start of the second half of the season Dec. 30 at Boston University. Over that span, the Nittany Lions have outscored its opponents 10-6 and have scored six goals on the power play.
 
AWARDS PILING UP
Jenna Brenneman and Izzy Heminger paired up to win the CHA Goaltender and Rookie of the Week awards this past week, becoming the fourth pair of Nittany Lions to win weekly conference awards on the same week:

  • Brenneman and Heminger – Nov. 19
  • Brenneman and Natalie Heising – Nov. 27
  • Adolfsson and Katie Rankin – Jan. 14
  • Brenneman and Heminger – Jan. 22

CRUNCH TIME
Penn State has one more two-game series against all five of its CHA opponents to close out the regular season in what currently stands as a tight race in the CHA conference standings. Despite being in fifth place in the conference currently, Penn State has the most wins (10) and the least losses (9) of each team in the CHA.
 
NEXT UP
The Nittany Lions conclude their nonconference schedule with a Tuesday matchup at #4 Princeton Jan. 29. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
