University Park, Pa. – Penn State men's tennis will travel to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the Jerry Simmons Invitational at the LSU Tennis Complex, Jan. 26-27. The Nittany Lions will enter as the No. 4 seed in the tournament.
Penn State will meet the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (6-1) in the first round of the tournament starting with singles play followed by doubles starting at 12:30 p.m. CT, Saturday. The Nittany Lions will then go on to face USF or Nicholls State later in the day.
The singles lineup for the weekend is as follows:

"It is an exciting time for the team and coaching staff," head coach Jeff Zinn said. "We have a veteran team that has been through the ups and downs of a collegiate schedule. We should be able to handle the pressure well and that usually spells success."

LAST TIME OUT
To start off their spring season, the Nittany Lions traveled to the Virginia Tech Invitational, Jan. 19-21, where they competed against Virginia Tech, William & Mary and Middle Tennessee in singles and doubles.
In head-to-head individual competition, Penn State racked up 71 points en route to 18 wins. Six of those wins came from doubles play, while 12 came from singles.
De La Bassetiere earned third place overall in the tournament with 22 individual points.
SCOUTING THE RAGIN' CAJUNS
Louisiana started its spring season at the Florida State Invitational, Jan. 12-13, where they took home wins against Nebraska and New Orleans as well as a loss to North Florida.
Jan. 20, the Ragin' Cajuns hosted Alcorn State in a doubleheader and earned two dominant wins. They then hosted Jackson State for another pair of games, Jan. 21, where they collected two more wins.

The Blue and White will face Harvard in their first dual match of the season in Cambridge, Ma., Feb. 2, at noon.
