UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's lacrosse saw redshirt junior Grant Ament and freshman TJ Malone as Ament was named to the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Team of the Week, and Malone was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second-straight week.
Malone out-did his season-opening performance of a hattrick against Villanova by scoring four goals, including one man-up, and dishing out an assist in the Nittany Lions' 27-10 win over Robert Morris on Saturday, earning his second Freshman of the Week honor.
Ament was named to the USILA Team of the Week for his two-week total of 17 points for his performances against Villanova and Robert Morris. The attackman scored three goals and tallied a career-best seven assists against Villanova and followed it up with 1 goal and six assists in the win over Robert Morris.
Ament and Malone and the rest of the Nittany Lions head to Stony Brook on Saturday, February 16 for 12 p.m. first face in Stony Brook, N.Y.
