Lucas Earns T&F Big Ten Weekly Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. –
Penn State track & field's David Lucas was named the Big Ten Indoor Men's Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Lucas earns conference honors for the first time this season and the second time in his career after winning the men's weight throw at the Penn State Tune-Up on Saturday, Feb. 16 with a season-best distance of 73-8.75 (22.47m).

Lucas' distance is enough for second-best in the conference and seventh in the nation, tied with teammate Morgan Shigo who earned weekly honors on Jan. 30.

The Lititz, Pa., native and All-American holds the school record in the weight throw at 78-9.75 (24.02m).

Penn State starts competition at the 2019 Big Ten Indoor Championship in Ann Arbor, Mich., Friday at 10 a.m.
