Larsson Inks ATO with Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Penn State announced on Tuesday morning that senior centerman Ludvig Larsson (Malmo, Sweden) has signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League (AHL). The announcement came from Binghmaton's general manager, Tom Fitzgerald. Binghamton is the AHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils.

Larsson recently completed his final season of NCAA eligibility with the Nittany Lions after using the graduate transfer rule to join Penn State back in August following three seasons at Merrimack College.

Along with being the first Swedish born player to lace up his skates for Guy Gadowsky, Larsson was also the first-ever graduate transfer to don the Blue and White. The swede finished the season with a career-high 25 points on nine goals and a career-best 16 assists while skating in all 39 games. Larsson was also one of the best face-off men in the country finishing the season tenth in the nation winning 59.6 percent of his draws, a mark that was second in the Big Ten.

For his career, Larsson skated in 130 games between Merrimack and Penn State scoring 33 goals while adding 37 assists for 70 points. The Swede will join his new team on the road in Laval tomorrow night as the Devils battle the Rocket at 7:30 p.m.
