Women’s Lacrosse To Face Maryland In Big Ten Semifinals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Women's Lacrosse team clinched the fourth seed in the Big Ten Tournament with its 18-7 win over Rutgers on Saturday.  The Nittany Lions are now set to take on top-seed Maryland on Friday, May 3 at 5 p.m. at Homewood Field.  The Big Ten Tournament is being hosted in Baltimore by Johns Hopkins.  Friday's matchup with be broadcast on Big Ten Network with Dean Linke and Sheehan Stanwick Burch on the call.
 
Penn State meets Maryland in Friday's first semifinal, followed by No. 2 seed Northwestern vs. No. 3 seed Michigan at 7:30 p.m.  The winners will advance to Sunday's Big Ten Championship, scheduled for noon on Big Ten Network.
 
The Nittany Lions, led by Head Coach Missy Doherty, finished the regular season with an 8-8 overall record, including 3-3 in Big Ten play.  Penn State won four of its final six games, including wins over Ohio State, Duquesne, No. 21 Johns Hopkins and Rutgers. 
 
Tickets for the Big Ten Tournament are $10 for reserved seats, $8 for general admission for adult, youth and seniors, and $1 for students with their school ID.
