Cardile Named B1G Defensive Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's lacrosse junior Nick Cardile was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Nittany Lions' 13-8 win over No. 7 Ohio State.

Junior defenseman Nick Cardile recorded a career-high three caused turnovers and three ground balls to help keep the Nittany Lion defensive zone on lockdown.

He helped hold Ohio State to just one goal in both the second and fourth quarters. His three caused turnovers tied the most by a Nittany Lion in a Big Ten game.

This marks Cardile's second career Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor as the native of Avon Grove, Pa., earned the honor on April 3, 2018 after a great performance as a long stick middie against Ohio State in 2018.

Cardile and the rest of the Nittany Lions head to Michigan for a 12 p.m. game on Sunday, April 13.
