UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women's volleyball team announced the 2019 schedule that features 16 home games, including hosting the reigning national champions, Stanford.
Penn State will start the season with three home games, opening with Hofstra on Friday, August 30. August 31 will feature two games as Holy Cross and Wichita State come to Rec Hall.
September will open with a road trip to Iowa State to take on the Cyclones on September 6 before a neutral site game against LSU on Saturday, September 7.
The Nittany Lions return to Rec Hall for three straight game. The home stand will begin with the 2019 Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge by playing Stanford on Friday, September 13, and will follow it up with Oregon on Saturday, September 14.
Penn State will then play a home-and-home with Pittsburgh, hosting the Panthers on Friday, September 20 before heading to Pittsburgh on Sunday, September 22 for the rematch.
The Big Ten slate will open with two home games for the Blue & White as Penn State will host Michigan State on Wednesday, September 25, and will welcome Rutgers to Rec Hall on Saturday, Sept. 28.
The Nittany Lions will head to Wisconsin for a midweek match as they take on the Badgers on Wednesday, October 2.
On Saturday, October 5, Penn State will host Iowa, and follow it up with two more home matches, hosting Maryland and Ohio State on October 11 and October 12, respectively.
Penn State will hit the road for five road matches in its next six contests, opening with a trip to Michigan and Michigan State. The Nittany Lions will take on the Wolverines on Friday, October 18 and the Spartans on Saturday, October 19.
The lone home game features a match in Rec Hall against Illinois on Wednesday, October 23.
The Blue & White then return to the road for matches against Maryland, Iowa, and Nebraska. The match against Maryland will be on October 26, with the matches against Iowa and Nebraska falling on November 1 and 2, respectively.
Penn State will then return home for matches with Indiana on November 8 and Purdue on November 9.
The month of November will feature a four-game road trip, with Illinois on Friday, November 15, Northwestern on Sunday, November 17, Indiana on November 20, and Rutgers on November 23.
The regular season will conclude with Penn State hosting Wisconsin and Minnesota on November 29 and 30, respectively.
