Heising Invited To Second-Straight USA Hockey Women's National Festival

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Penn State women's hockey student-athlete Natalie Heising has been invited to the 2019 USA Hockey Women's National Festival in Lake Placid, N.Y. August 5-13 as announced Tuesday.

The training camp will serve as a selection process to choose the U18 and U22 Select Teams that will compete against Canada in the annual U18 and U22 series. Heising will have the opportunity to compete for a spot on the U22 Select Team.

Heising, a junior from Wayzata, Minn., is participating in her second-consecutive National Festival and her third overall. She was chosen to the U18 Select Team in 2016.

One of the top players in Penn State's budding history, Heising ranks first in program history with 0.78 points per game and 0.47 goals per game through 72 contests. She also ranks tied for first with 14 power-play goals and was the third Nittany Lion ever selected as an All-CHA First Team performer in 2018-19.

"We are really proud of Natalie," said head coach Jeff Kampersal. "Having earned First Team All-CHA honors last season, she deserves a chance to compete with and against the best USA players this August."

Heising paced the Nittany Lions and tied for third in the CHA in scoring with 28 points on 15 goals and 13 assists. She has 56 points in her two-year stint at Penn State, a mark that ranks second among all skaters in the CHA during that span and also comes in fifth all-time among Nittany Lions.

Experienced in international competition, Heising won gold medals with Team USA in the 2016 and 2017 U18 IIHF World Junior Championships. She also was chosen the top forward of the 2017 squad by her coaches.
