UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's golf team will play on one of the top golf courses in the country Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 23-24, when it competes in the Old Town Club Collegiate in Winston-Salem. This is the first appearance for the Nittany Lions at this tournament with a 13-team field, including host Wake Forest, ranked No. 1 nationally.

The par-70, 6,966-yard Old Town Club course, originally designed by Perry Maxwell in 1939, was restored by famed architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw in 2013. Two rounds on Monday begin with a 7:30 a.m. ET tee time for the first with continuous play into the second round. Tuesday's tee time will be set based on the team's finish after day one.

"We have looked at Old Town Club in an overview, talked hole by hole with a few reliable sources, and will have to do quality work in our practice round," said Penn State head men's golf coach Greg Nye. "We understand OTC can play very differently based on firmness and green speeds.

"We are appreciative of coach Jerry Haas for inviting us to this outstanding tournament. The Deacs have a storied history in college golf and we hope our team drinks in the environment and gets after it."

Juniors James McHugh (Rye, N.Y.) and Lou Olsakovsky (Upper St. Clair, Pa.), who tied for the team lead at the Rod Myers Invitational last week, make the return trip to North Carolina with seniors Alec Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.) and Ryan Davis (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) and junior Lukas Clark (Holland, Pa.).

The Nittany Lions will see some familiar teams this week as Wake Forest, Cincinnati and East Carolina all participated in the Rod Myers Invitational at Duke last weekend. Big Ten colleague Rutgers joins this field with Augusta, Georgia Southern, Louisville, the 2018 Old Town Club Collegiate champion, Loyola (Md), Virginia Tech, Washington, West Virginia and Yale.

A recap will be posted on GoPSUsports.com following the action on both days of competition.
