UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women's lacrosse youth clinic scheduled for Monday, October 7 has been canceled due to weather concerns. The final youth clinic of the Fall is scheduled for Monday, October 14. The clinic will run from 6-7 p..m.
The youth clinics, led by Head Coach Missy Doherty and the Penn State women's lacrosse team, are open to girls in grades 3-8. The clinics are designed toward beginner-level players.
The staff will be introducing and focusing on basic fundamental skills and small-sided drills/games throughout the training series.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring full lacrosse equipment, including a mouth guard.
Clinic participants will also need to sign a medical release form, available in the above PDF. The form will need to be submitted on the day of the clinic or emailed to director of operations Katie Haus (kzs968@psu.edu). Participants will not be permitted to play without a signed medical release form.
Doherty, the 2015 Big Ten Coach of the Year, is entering her 10th season as Head Coach of the Penn State women's lacrosse program. She has led Penn State to seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including two National Semifinals. Doherty has coached 34 IWLCA All-Americans and 40 All-Conference selections in her career.
The Nittany Lions won eight games in 2019, including victories over No. 11 Towson and No. 21 Johns Hopkins. Penn State is set to return 25 members for the 2020 season, including 2019 All-Big Ten selection Maria Auth and two-time All-American Madison Carter.
