UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State will host a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Penn State Golf Courses to help the American Cancer Society defeat a common enemy – cancer. Pre-event registration is available here with options for students, individual participants or families to register.
The 5K Run/Walk will get underway at 1 p.m. with on-site check-in beginning at noon at the Walker Clubhouse. Online registration closes at 9:59 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. Walk-up registration is available starting at noon.
Registration for individuals is $25, which includes an event T-shirt. The family package, for two adults and two children (under 12 years of age), with four event T-shirts, is $50. Students can register for the 5K Run/Walk and receive an event T-shirt for $20 (student ID must be presented at check-in).
The Penn State Golf Courses are located at 1523 W. College Avenue in State College.
Through Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State events like the 5K Run/Walk, the annual golf tournament, Real Men Wear Pink, as well as other partnerships, more than $3.2 million has been raised by CVC-Penn State since its inception.
For 24 years, the Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State program, in collaboration with the National Association of Basketball Coaches, has united coaches and fans nationwide to raise funds to support cancer research and programs in local communities. Through fundraising and education initiatives, Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State has supported the American Cancer Society in improving and saving lives from cancer in the U.S. and worldwide.
