Lions fall short in comeback against Bears

It wasn't our day on Saturday, as the Men's team struggled to get much going against a strong Kutztown outfit.

Kutztown started well and jumped out to an early 22-0 lead in the first half. A few errors and a few missed tackles allowed them to gain momentum and find the tryline on numerous occasions. Halftime finally arrived, which allowed the Lions to get a little break and make some much needed adjustments.

The second half was much better as the attack and defense started to operate a bit more like we are used to, outscoring Kutztown 24-12 in the second half. Jesse Capriotti had another brace of tries on the day and is proving to be a deadly finisher when he gets his hands on the ball.

There were some real positive moments to take from the second half, as we were able to find space in the wide channels on a few occasions. Unfortunately, we were not able to capitalize on some of those breaks. There were some great lessons learned on the weekend, and the team must now refocus as we head to Ohio State to take on non-conference opponent Davenport, in Columbus, OH next Saturday.

The 2nd team made a valiant effort in their contest, but also fell short by a try in the second match.

Next up for the team, 2:30pm, October 19th v. Davenport @ The Ohio State University.
